ESPN has identified redshirt sophomore Dante Moore as the leading candidate to take over the starting role in 2025. A former five-star recruit, Moore was ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the 2023 class and began his collegiate career at UCLA. During his freshman season with the Bruins, he passed for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. After transferring to Oregon, Moore spent the 2024 season learning behind Gabriel and appeared in four games, completing seven of eight pass attempts for 49 yards and rushing for six yards .
