In the aftermath of Tyson Fury’s unanimous decision loss to Oleksandr Usyk, promoter Frank Warren initially expressed strong disagreement with the judges’ 116-112 scorecards, describing them as “nuts” and “impossible.”
Warren was particularly perplexed that one judge did not award Fury any rounds from the sixth onward, stating, “How can that be? That’s impossible.”
However, after rewatching the fight, Warren acknowledged that the bout was closer than he had perceived from his ringside position.
Despite this concession, Warren maintained his belief that Fury had done enough to secure victory, aligning with Fury’s own assertion that he won the fight by at least three rounds.
This divergence in opinions highlights the subjective nature of boxing scoring, where perspectives can vary significantly between judges, fighters, promoters, and viewers.
