Jorge Martín hasn’t forgotten the official Ducati team’s preference for another rider and believes that there is some resentment on the part of the manufacturer because he was world champion, while admitting that he was able to prove something that, without saying specifically who, “they didn’t want him to prove to them.”.
The Spaniard, a future Aprlia driver, spoke to Marca, where he recalled that he had only done what he had to do, showing his worth, and that whether he was hired or not couldn’t be his decision: ‘Whether they hire me or not, you can’t control.’.
He then admitted that perhaps the other party had no desire to see what would end up happening: ‘If not, it ended up being more of a release to say, “For years I’ve been trying to demonstrate something to people who didn’t want me to demonstrate it to them.”’ In the end, I saw that I didn’t have to demonstrate anything, and I gave it my all, just as I had done up to that point, and I managed to win this title’.
Martín believes that there is some regret at the moment: ‘Now they’re probably biting their nails, but in the end it’s not me they have to talk to.’.
